Why Axolotls and special?

    Why Axolotls and special?

If you ever saw an Axolotls, you might think it looks like a dragon. It is very weird.

Axolotls are weird because they look strange. Instead of having their gills inside like a fish, They have frilly feather like things on the outside of their head.
They also have no eyelids - because they are always in the water.

An axolotl is very strange because they eat each other because if the girl is bigger she thinks he is food. It is the same with their babies. If an axolotl has a leg chopped off it will grow back in a couple of week’s. This is called regeneration. Some scientists have even experimented and made a two headed Axolotl.

As you can see, an axolotl is pretty weird. I wish that I had one as they look like a very fun pet to have.

  2. Hi Jay :D, enjoyed your story about the Axolotl, my brother used to have a pair (two) one white and one black, he used to feed them raw mince meat they really loved that, did you know that they only come from one place in the world, one complex of lakes that are close to Mexico City in south-central Mexico.Surveys in 1998, 2003 and 2008 found 6,000, 1,000 and 100 axolotls per square kilometer in its Lake Xochimilco habitat, respectively.A four-month-long search in 2013, however, turned up no surviving individuals in the wild. Just a month later, two wild ones were spotted in a network of canals leading from Xochimilco. The city is currently working on conserving axolotls by building "axolotl shelters" and conserving remaining and potential habitats for the Axolotl. I sure hope they manage to survive .......... Gerry :D

That is an interesting animal, and I had no idea how endangered they are - that was interesting information from Gerry, wasn't it!

I wonder what the MOST endangered animal in the world might be...
