I am in the wind.
It is very warm.

Metamorphose

In the middle for the night, I turned into a rock. Now I have concrete on me and I just sit there. In me I have minerals and I am grey.

But I can not talk or move unless someone throws me and cracks me. ”Which would hurt”. If I was a rock I would not enjoy it anyway.

If I was a rock I would try to work. My brother came and stood on me  and I thrust myself at him and he said “ow ow ow”.

Then it is summer I will still be alive and I will be a rock till next summer and will be a human again. “Yey Yey” I said.

The Vet

The Vet.

Today we took our two cat’s to the vet. Our cat’s names are Bella and Mittens.

When we got there we had to wait in the waiting room and then a vet came and got us. The vet first had a look at Mittens and they did a vaccination and flea and worm. Then they checked her temperature.

Then it was Bella’s turn and they did the same examination and vaccination. Then they laid her down they check her temperature and then weighed her.

Answer: 4 hours to have the bike.

My Diary

On Saturday at 8.00 I got ready for cricket and at 8.30 I was on my way to the Springston domain.

I had 25 minutes to get in some practise before the game started at 9am.

The team decided to open the batting with Darcy and me.

The best moment was when I hit a 4 and I said ‘yay’. Then I was off the field and I had a break. Later I was back on the field to catch the other team out. I bowled someone out and I was so happy.

I was proud of myself and I got player of the day. I got a drink and a Morrow Bar. Then is was time to go home at about 12.00 and I got home at 12.10 and I had lunch.

My name is Jayden. I am 8 years old and I am a year 4. I like to play the keyboard. I have keyboard lessons on a thursday at Barrington Mall. I do art lessons and I love writing especially. I do writing all of the time and I have my own computer. I love my computer. It's also fun to play on but I mainly do writing. I have a twin brother and a six year old brother and they are very funny.

• At Springston School there is sign saying to be adaptable,accountable,accepting and adventurous

       which means to be an a+ Springston learner.

• Outside, at every school, there are balls waiting for kids to play with them and to have a fun time, but nobody will play with the ball when they are lost.

• I am on the floor at the back of the library waiting for someone to look at me and to notice that I am being very good, but I do not want someone to throw me into the leaves.

• I am leaves coming down from the trees, it only happens in Autumn but the leaves do not want kids to jump in them because it would hurt them.

Winter.

In the winter courtyard the seat is waiting for someone to sit on it but it is too frosty for our bottoms.

The water hopes someone will look at it and think that it looks tasty.

On the cold winter day there are heaps of grasses waving in the wind.

The deck outside the library has a puddle with patterns made of ice.

Outside, there are balls waiting for kids to play with them and to have a fun time. But nobody will play with the ball that is lost beside the covered-up swimming pool.

At our school there are chickens and the chickens are saying I am hungry and cold. 
I am a plant, a winter plant with no leaves, waiting for people to look at me and think that I am an awesome plant. I hope no one will stomp on me.

There is a girl that behaves like an cat.

She sleeps in the sun and when she is hungry she will ask for some food.

“Me hungry,” she yowls.

She wears a fluffy jumper and she wears a headband and on it there are two cat ears.

Her name is Mittens. She eats a lot of milk and tuna. She goes up trees, tall ones too. She goes under the house ,on the roof, in the shower too!! She yawns wide like a cat. Purrrrrrrrr!!

Last term my Dad asked me if I would like go to the movies with him. So on Friday in the holidays we went to see the movie Spider Man. We went to Hoyts in Westfield Mall. After we had bought the tickets we went to a shop that sold watches because Dad was looking at getting a new watch. Then we went back to the movie theatre and got something to eat for while we were watching the movie. I had a small coke and a small popcorn and Dad had an ice cream and a coke. We went into cinema 5. We sat in the seats at J14 and 15. The seats were right in the middle.

The Spiderman movie was interesting and fun. My favourite part was at the end when Spiderman's Mum swore because she didn't know he was Spiderman! The movie was 2 hours and 20 minutes long. Out of 10 I would give it a score of 10.

We came out of the movies and went to get KFC. We headed home. I got into bed at about 10.10pm. I had a lot of fun and it was awesome to watch the movie with Dad.

My 58th blog post

    My 58th blog post.

Today on Thursday the 13th of July I got my 58th blog post.

I have learnt heaps of things this term about blogging and a lot of other stuff.

I know all of the key codes and key shortcuts like ctrl c and ctrl v.

Last term I needed to work on spelling and now I am quite good with spelling.

Sometimes I have to delete things when I help kids in our class even though they don't want it to be deleted.

Quite a few of the kids in my class are always coming and asking for help.

I like helping kids in my class.

Snow day

Today it started to snow-just a little bit.
When I woke up it was raining then it went sleety and then it went to snow....... but since it had been raining it did not settle and it went away. It stopped snowing at 10.05am. And at 10.30am it started to snow again. It was hard too.
It has not snowed in 3 years but when it snowed 3 years ago it snowed heaps and it was like 5 metres deep!
It also snowed lots and lots and lots when we lived in Rangiora when we were about 3 years old.
I love playing in the snow and so wish it would snow here in the school holidays. It would make the holidays extra special and fun.

Draw your favourite scene or character from the book.

In writing tell us why it's your favourite scene or person. Try and use lots describing words and wow words! Remember some of the awesome wow words we went over after reading! Like flabbergasted, absurd, colossal, astonish etc.

Veruca is my favourite character because she tries to get her own way all of the time. She has her dad wrapped around her little finger and he will do anything that she asks. In the factory, Veruca wants a squirrel and asks her father for one. When Wonka states that they are not for sale, Veruca goes rogue and tries to steal a squirrel from the nut room. What she didn't expect was all 100 squirrels attacking her on the spot. Veruca is the second to last child to disappear. I was pleased when she left.

After seeing the movie, what do you prefer? The book or the movie? Tell me why and remember to use lots of examples.

I preferred the book more than the movie because I like the songs and it was funny when you sang them to us. I also liked the book because I could imagine it in my head too. The pictures I was imagining in my head were quite different to the scenes in the movie. For example in my head Willy Wonka had a different hat and face than it was in the movie.

The movie missed out some of the details that were in the book and some parts of the story were a wee bit different in the movie.

About the school chickens.

This year, in the 2nd term our school got chickens. There is a chicken club and there are kids that look after the chickens.

There are 19 people in the chicken club. There is a roster telling us when we need to come and help out. It tells us which day and what break to come.

The names of the children in the chicken club are Poppy, Charlotte W, Lexie, Adele, Lucy, Carys, Fletcher, Sammy, Deklyn, Tegan, Paris, Quintin, Danica, Keira, Mckenzie, Harrison, James, Charlotte and of course me-Jayden. I like helping to look after the chickens.

In the holidays, Joe our chicken leader needed some help to look after the chickens. A notice was sent home with all the kids in the school asking if anyone could help and on what days.

The next week Joe sent out an email with a roster saying when our day was. Our day was the first Tuesday of the holidays. When we went to feed and check on the chickens they had laid 6 eggs. Yummy!!

We had boiled eggs for lunch and they tasted so good.

How blogging is better than playing games.

Blogging is better than playing games because you can do more stuff and you do not learn much when you play games. If you play games all the time you should also do blogging because you will learn a lot more than playing games on your computer. If you want to play games you can but I would not play them all of the time.

This term Fire House won. I think we won because we have more people in our team but also because we were being good role models and sitting on the mat with our arms and legs crossed.

My best teacher Allana.

My best teacher Allana.

Allana is an awesome teacher because she makes learning fun and when you need help she will help you. Allana is also fantastic  because she is good at blogging and really good on the computer.

Allana has encouraged me with my writing and reading by teaching me how to do blogging. I have improved a lot in my reading and writing just in the short time that I have had Allana as my teacher.

Her patience and kindness has helped me to become more confident in learning. As well as being kind and caring Allana is firm and fair when she is dealing with naughty kids or problems in the classroom.

I enjoy the funny stories that she tells me like how she bathed her chicken. I would not have got this far if I had not had her as my teacher.

Allana is the best teacher that I have ever had in the world.  As a cherry on the top Allana has the coolest hair-it is pink, blonde and curly!!

About Maths

                                   

Every day of the week at school we do maths. We have it after 2nd break. We go to the Moller mat first. Then we get into our groups and we go to the math chart because we have to see where our group is meant to be.

Today, first of all my group was on ICT maths and this is when you go on a computer and you do Mathletics. This is good for learning and it is great fun.

The rounds are for about 20 minutes. Then we moved to teacher work shop. This is when we go to the teacher in our group and we do some new learning. I love being with the teacher too.

Then it is time to pack up and we go out to 3rd break.
